DobSTUFF - A 10" Telescope

10" F4.5 Newtonian for Nick in Vancouver, B.C.:

This telescope includes an Antares 2-speed 2" crayford focuser with 1.25" adapter, a Destiny curved vane spider and secondary. The mirror is a Meade F4.5 Pyrex mirror from a Starfinder Dobsonian made in the 1980's. The mirror cell is made using Baltic birch 13-ply plywood.

The telescope was completed in June 2009.

The scope is set up and ready to use.

A small 1.25# counterweight is affixed to the center of the mirror cell. This helps keep the rocker box short and closer to the ground, adding to the stability of the telescope..

I always include a mirror cover with the telescopes I build.

The telescope assembles and disassembles without the need for tools.
